Black Cuisine includes live music, vendor booths, a kids’ zone, and soulful delights (fried chicken, catfish, ribs, black-eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, and sweet potato pie) at 1706 Yosemite Avenue. Free.

International Ocean Film Festival
March 9 – 12, 2017

One of the largest and most diverse of its kind, the festival features documentaries, animations, narratives and other traditional screen fare on topics ranging from ocean adventures to island culture and more.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Second and Market to Civic Center

St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins 11:30 a.m. at 2nd Street and Market Street and ends at the Civic Center, where you’ll find St. Patrick’s Day Festival with entertainment, arts and crafts, Irish exhibitors, food, and kids’ rides until 5 p.m. Free.

International Chocolate Salon
March 18

The SF International Chocolate Salon is the premier chocolate event on the west coast, inviting hundreds of artisan chocolatiers to show off their culinary achievements and share them with the public. In addition to decadent chocolate samples, the festival also includes spirits, local brews, and wine, and appearances by celebrity chefs. This is an all-day event at the Hotel Kabuki on Post Street.

Human Rights Film Festival

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the powerful Human Rights Film Festival, which showcases pieces about human rights issues from political repression and disappearances to environmental destruction and HIV. You can catch all the screenings of these thought-provoking films at the USF Presentation Theater.
