Where to Eat Out on Christmas Day in SF

If you don’t have enough time to prepare a special meal for your friends and family, you can always look for some seasonal spice. Dozens of restaurants in San Francisco open their doors on Christmas. Most offer special menus so you can sit back, relax, and let the chef do all the work. Here are some of the restaurants in the Bay that are keeping their doors open on Christmas Day.

1300 on Fillmore

While there’s no turkey on 1300 on Fillmore’s Christmas day menu, there’s plenty of soulful Southern substitutes to keep you feeling festive. Choose from dishes like prime rib roast with creamed spinach and Yorkshire pudding, BBQ shrimp n’ grits, or seared scallops served with a side of hominy.

Details: Three seatings at 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7 p.m., respectively.

Beso Bistronomia

The Castro’s Beso Bistronomia will be celebrating Christmas, Catalan-style with a $65 prix fixe menu featuring selections like dayboat scallop crudo dappled with orange and jalapeno, petrale sole with roasted rutabaga, and churros for dessert.

Details: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Crystal Jade

Head down to the Embarcadero to enjoy views of the Bay from a table at Crystal Jade where you can order from the regular menu in addition to festive Christmas specials like beef with red wine, lamb chops, pork belly with brussels sprouts, and spot prawns coated in crispy oats.

Details: Lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Sutro’s at Cliff House

Overlook the Pacific from Sutro’s window-filled dining room, where you can enjoy classic American fare from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day. Sutro’s expects to fill up for the holiday, so be sure to reserve in advance.

Zingari

This Christmas, Zingari’s will be serving its Italian specialties alongside a swingin’ soundtrack of live jazz. With doors closing as late as 10 p.m. and a menu filled with filet mignon and ossobuco, you can enjoy both the music and the menu at your leisure.

Details: 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
