SF Ballet’s Nutcracker on Christmas Eve in San Francisco 2015
The SF Ballet is the oldest ballet company in the United States as it was first premiered on Christmas Eve 1944. It was then became an instants sensation and launched a national holiday tradition. Most of their performances are still held at the historic War Memorial Opera House at 301 Van Ness, right across the street from City Hall. This holiday season, experience the beauty and athleticism of SF Ballet’s international cast of world at their first performance in 2015 is on Wednesday, December 16. The final show is on Thursday, December 31. Nutcracker is the most anticipated performances every year. Nutcracker is best enjoyed by children ages 5 and older. A Christmas Carol
This Dicken’s Christmas classic plays at the Geary Theater through A.C.T on Christmas Eve Day. Follow Ebenezer Scrooge as he gets a second chance to change the way he deals with Christmas each year. Featuring a lively cast of dozens, gorgeous costumes, and those deliciously spooky ghosts, the Bay Area’s favorite holiday tradition returns with a sparkling, music-infused production of A Christmas Carol. The Santaland Diaries
The Santaland Diaries by David Sedaris has returned to San Francisco for the holidays. The show is a twisted take on shopping mall Santalands. This funny production is heading into its 14th year in San Francisco. Written by funny guy David Sedaris, The Santaland Diaries is a hilarious look at traditional Santalands that you find in shopping malls all around the US. It’s a solo act, performed by Crumpet the Elf, as he talks more about the people that work and visit Santalands during the holidays. Tickets run from $25 -$35 VIP.
